Ourika Valley shared day trip from Marrakech is a good escape for one Day Excursion from Marrakech at only 1 hour and 30 minutes driving. Setti Fatma is the end of the Ourika Valley – it has seven beautiful waterfalls, breath-taking landscapes and mountain trails (that will require a good pair of hiking shoes!). This is a wonderful trip that should not be missed, especially when combined with a visit to a Berber family in a traditional home.
Ourika Valley Day Trip from Marrakech in a small group starts around 9 am. We will drive towards the High Atlas Mountains enjoying the beautiful landscapes and the authentic Berber villages (dating from the 16th and 17th centuries). Our first stop is in a traditional Moroccan house, to see how people live and to taste their amazing cooking! The lady of the house will begin with a tea ceremony to show us how to make mint tea and then they will serve a country breakfast (bread, butter, honey, olive oil and tea). Then our day excursion continues deeper into the valley, where we will stop for a 20-minute camel ride. We will continue on then to the end of the road, where you will be met by a guide to go trekking for approximately 2 hours to see the waterfalls (Setti Fatma cascades). On returning to the van, we will continue driving until we stop for lunch at an authentic restaurant with a beautiful view of the valley. Lunch will consist of a variety of Moroccan specialties. After lunch, we will begin our return trip to Marrakech. We advise you to bring along some hiking boots as we will go on a short trail through to some of the Setti Fatma Cascades (waterfalls).
Arrival back in Marrakech city is around 5.00 pm.
