Ouzoude cascades shared budget day trip from Marrakech is one of the best excursions and day trips to the Atlas Mountains – this is the biggest mountain range in North Africa which offers extremely impressive mountain-biking possibilities, hiking trails and photography expeditions. This is an ideal Day Trip from Marrakech! The high mountain peaks force the clouds to give high quantities of rainfall – this means that the High Atlas Mountains have many fertile valleys surrounded by rivers and waterfalls. In the summer, when the hot weather can be exhausting, the Ouzoude Waterfall Day Trip can be a good escape from the heat of the city in Marrakech. The trip takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes driving – this will bring you to some breath-taking landscapes and mountain trails that do require a good pair of hiking boots to get around! This low coast shared trip is an amazing sight that cannot be missed!
Ouzoude cascades shared budget day trip from Marrakechs starts around 8am, first heading to Demnate (the most ancient village in Morocco with its own Jewish Quarter) and its fields of olive trees. After a short visit to this village, we will drive to Tanannt – a village perched on top of a hill – and here you will see an outstanding panorama, especially when the Atlas Rock Ridge is covered with snow. Upon arrival at the Ouzoude Waterfalls, you will walk for around 60 minutes on a footpath to the upper waters of the cascades, where grain mills operate thanks to the torrent water. We will stop for lunch at a restaurant on the cascades site. The Ouzoude Waterfalls, which are often topped by a rainbow because of the spray of water falling on the rocks, join up to the Oued el Abid Canyon 2km below. A footpath winding among the olive trees will lead you to the foot of the waterfall, where you will get to enjoy taking beautiful pictures with the wild Macaque Monkeys.
Arrival back in Marrakech city is around 7.00 pm.
